Open Educator, Inc. is a US 501(c)3 education non-profit working to champion a 21st century model for curriculum and teacher professional development.

Open Planner is an international, online curriculum collaboration tool, where k-12 teachers and education researchers can build, test, and refine their curriculum. We are working hard to make our online community a hub of reflective and rigorous conversation around best teaching practices. We believe that educational resources are vastly more useful and effective when supplemented by the rich context of discussion about implementation. This is what we strive to achieve as a community.

All curriculum resources posted on Open Planner are Creative Commons licensed to allow educators worldwide free and unlimited access to high quality resources.

Inspired and supported by the amazing applications emerging from open source software communities, Open Planner has the potential to strengthen the fundamental infrastructure for free society: early education.

The success or failure of classroom teachers around the world in forming a critical intellect in young people has a major impact on the choices these same children make as adults. Whether the problem is war, abuse of political power, ideoligical tyranny, famine, disease, or poverty, the common antidote is a strong education in the tradition of free thought.
