Learning objectives:

In this lesson, students will continue to workshop the process of writing through Group Advising sessions:

- Asking effective questions in group advising

- Giving helpful feedback to classmates

- Working in group editing/revising environment

Key Questions, Concepts, or Themes:

 

Stage 1:

Warm-up: (Post my own work for students to read). Write an example of a good question you might ask in a group advising session.

Stage 2:

Break students up into groups of 3 (use popsicle sticks for random assignment). Students will be asked to meet with their peers and group advise (spend about 10 min per paragraph). Each student should have 2 response sheets to fill out (and give to their peers).

Stage 3:

If time allows, give students the opportunity to make new revision notes based on their Group Advising Session.
