Stage 1: WARM-UP: MUG Shot: - Put 3 sentences on the board & on small sheets - have students copy and add commas: * In my neighborhood there are tall buildings enormous trees and wide streets. * People cross the street quickly taxicabs honk their horns and the buildings stand like silent guards. * My hair can be stringy wavy or curly. * That building must be 10000 feet high!

Stage 2: In stage 2, students will revise pieces for final time, incorporating peer comments. Students will be given blank copies of the Checklist for Good Writing (WS 2000 p. 24), on which they will be able to check off criteria in their own pieces.
