Curriculum Planning Overview
Our job is the following:
"The Curriculum & Instruction Plan and Presentation is a group activity that will generate one coherent plan of curriculum and instructional for a school. This project asks that you and a group of peers develop the curriculum plan using the tools identified in this course and those used in your professional settings. Some questions to consider for of this project are: What is your instructional vision? Who are the students being served? What are their needs? What is taught? How? Why? What resources are available? What is needed in terms of teacher development for successful implementation?"

Here are Dr. White's answers to my questions. Do you think they're helpful? Also, I think if we add "headers" a la Prof. Shipps, we will avoid any unnecessary professor confusion.Â
 (response to my "reminder" email)
Thanks, Lisadiana.    Â
I let it slip off of the radar in taking a moment to think about my responses. See
my responses below in bold.   Â

Good morning, Dr. White,
Our group is working on our instructional plan and have a few questions for you. Below were questions you posed for our consideration.
Subject Area Focus, Grade Level, Unit of Time, Goal
Explanation of Frame Work Overarching Goal for implementation, Support needed for implementation. As a teacher what would I need? What is your instructional Vision? Who are the students being served? What are their needs? What is taught? How? Why? What resources are available? What is needed in terms of teacher development for successful implementation?
So far, from our understanding of the activity description we're clear on subject area, grade level, unit of time and students being served.
However, by goal, is it the goal of our school or the goal of the course being taught to the students through this particular instructional plan? And goal is different from understandings, correct? Could you clarify that a little? It is the goal of the course being taught to the students through this particular instructional plan. However, that is situated in a larger context. Let the reader know what that is. That is, it makes sense to say you are incorporating tech as a means of teaching reading, for example, and that is the case because your school's goals is to treat tech as integral component to learning, etc.
framework explanation: is it of the framework of our school or the plan? again, same as above. Start with your plan and how it fits into a larger scope of teh framework or school. As for support, how does that differ from resources and professional development? I meant student supports, that is, are you having to be attentive to any special concerns of students that would require added support? For example, do all students have computer access at home or away from school? If you require the use of tech for larger projects, how do you account for this disparity. You bring an interesting dilemma with the pd question too. Will you organize a program of pd for teachers to initiate this? will you start with a core group of teachers only? (You don't have to fully develop the support, but I think bec. of the nature of your work that you should mention that you anticipate these
obstacles are will respond in a certain way. Are we to include how we, as administrators, bring our staff on board with this plan? Not in detail, again, as I mentioned in the question prior to this one.
Thanks for clarifying for us. We appreciate your help. You are welcomed.
Enjoy your day,
Lisadiana

White's answers
Hi, All,
I added Dr. White's answers to my questions and posted them above. I think we've been on the right track all along but she added a few specifics I think we should attend to. Also, I think if we add "headers" a la Prof. Shipps, we will avoid any unnecessary professor confusion. What do you think?
Best,
LD
I'm In
Hey Group,
Thank you for organizing this. I will in and out all day, plus I am working on Tuesdays presentation. But I will hopefully have this thing figured out and my parts posted by today and tuesday's deadlines.
Thank you again
Nate
Let's get started!
