Career Fact Finding
Objectives:
- Students will use online career resources to get a preliminary grasp of a career they may be interested in exploring.
- Students will gain familiarity with web tools as a means of research and publishing (As if they can't already school you in this area!)
Activities:
I posted the following on our school's web portal, and had students post their responses as comments to my post:
Today we will be investigating career options in order to get a better sense of our options, to better define our career dreams, and to know the steps we might need to take in order to make them a reality.
You may or may not have a clear sense of "What you want to do when you grow up." This is perfectly normal.
Based on your interests and curiosity, find a basic job description and salary for a career path info using the links below.
1) What job title are you researching?
2) Summarize the JOB DESCRIPTION. What are the duties and responsibilities that come along with this line of work?
3) What educational level and job experience do you need to enter this profession?
4) What salary range can someone expect to earn in this profession?
