Responses to stimuli may be positive or nagative.

Most plants respond slowly to stimuli, but some can respond very quickly.

  Have students think about what happens to thier mouth when they smell food. (thier mouth waters) Explain that smell can be a stimulus to the salivary glands.  The production of saliva is the bodys response to this stimuli. Why would the body produce saliva in reponse to food. 

Stage 3:

  Students to read page aloud.
