Learning objectives: Cells are fundamental units of living things. Cellls have internal structures that can be examined with a microscope. The structure of plant cells and animals cells have similarities and differences.

Stage 1: Have students exmaine under the microscope slide of cork, discuss what they see. |
|
|
Stage 2: Go over the detials of plant and animal cells, use hand out to color cells. |
|
|
Stage 3: For the lab we will look at edible cells: Reteaching strategies to look at slides of Elodea or other leaf sudrfaces. Ak them to draw what they see. Fianlly, have students record a thier thoughts about microscopes in sciencelog. |
