Team description:

Outstanding educators are truly gifts in our lives. They share their love of teaching youth, guiding youth to be their best, and taking youth to "places" never experienced. Unfortunately, there is no textbook, no college course, or workshop which can teach all these qualities to every educator. A few will always be outstanding, naturally. Too often though there is another scenario. What happens when a student has the teacher which they just cannot seem to get along with or ‘rubs’ them the wrong way? What happens when a student meets a teacher who does not teach to pass? …who does not consider student failure as a personal insult? These are circumstances which millions of students find themselves in daily. This team is developing a ‘tool bag’ to help these students cope and adjust to ‘prickly’ teachers because how the student is responding to the teacher just isn’t working and they need a new skill set to cope not only with present teacher adjustment in a school setting but also with future co-worker or supervisor behavior in the workplace. This team believes that every student has the power to respect, to trust, to direct behavior change, to believe, and to change their behavior to become a decent, productive member of their community.
