Key Questions, Concepts, or Themes:

 

 

Stage 1:Students will take plastic bags and collect materials from the park, they will use this material to add to thier bottles and create the bottle ecology. This is a double period project, at the end the students shoul dhave completed the bottle, added water and place them by the windows where we will watch them grow! 

Points to rememeber: have the lab groups create names for the bottles

 

Stage 2: We wil cover that science is people! They will seek to answer the following questions:

1. How are scientsist similar to and different from you and me?

2. What questionswould you ask a visiting scientisit? (As we will have visitors to our class, the questions will depend on the field and research being covered by our visitor).

3. What is one thing about scientist that you learned from interviewing our visitors?

4. What characterisitcs should a person have in order to become a research scientsits?

5. Why is the study of science importantn for a person who does not intend to become a scientisit?

 

These questions and the devlopment of the interview questions should be done in each lab group. They may read and take examples of the interview in the text. For homework.

 

Stage 3: Create a collage using the theme and title SCIENCE IS FUN!
