Engineering Ethics

Regardless of what engineering topics that we cover, it is important to teach ethics.
In fact, The Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) now requires accredited engineering programs in the United States to make serious efforts to foster in their students "an understanding of the ethical characteristics of the engineering profession and practice. As for secondary school students, raising students' awareness of this aspect of professional engineering work is the least we should do. http://ethics.tamu.edu/pritchar/an-intro.htm This site has 30+ cases that we can adapt to teach middle school students. Also, I have the cases saved on my disk in case the site becomes unaccessible in the future. Ask me for a copy. Reference: Michael S. Pritchard
